Maternity Pics!

My friend Nena so sweetly offered to take some pictures of me to document this pregnancy. We took them on Friday at Dilly Deli in downtown Tulsa. My baby shower was at the deli on Saturday! The other cool part was Nena is getting married this fall and having her reception there! So, she was excited to take photographs there too. I am 7 months along and now is when everyone says to take pics because you are not too big yet but are big enough to look pregnant, not just like a lardo. Poor me because my butt and my neck are inflating and I gave Nena the impossible task of trying to hide those things in the pics. No chance! But, it is what it is and she did a great job. These are some of my favorites! Oh yeah, and we decided to name the baby Wade! Wade William Wallace..... dot com.

25 Weeks

I am so bad at updating this blog. But, in my defense, there is little to say and no one really listening:) I am equally bad at remembering to take a photos of my growing belly. In truth, I think about it but am in my pj's and have no make up on 99% of the time when I am at home and no one wants to see that.
News:
1. Feeling baby boy move since week 20. He was fist pumping this morning at church. Still love it. Usually does a morning work out at about 5am. Still love it.
2. Grew some pretty long neck hair (like a goat) in the last few weeks. It was blond and peach fuzz like. Waxed it last nite. I started to be able to feel it blowing in the breeze--it was time.
3. More neck talk---let's just say my new nick name is 'thunder neck'. Leave it at that.
4. No baby name yet. It may come down to drawing a name out of a hat.
5. Started making crib bedding. Wish there were more hours in the day---don't know how I'm going to get it all done.
That's all for now. Still feeling great!

19 Week Old BOY!

So, I keep forgetting to have Justin take pictures of my growing mid-section. Last nite I just decided that even though I was in my pj's, it was picture time! I don't fee like I have grown that much until I compare this pic to the one we took at 15 weeks! Yowza!

We also found out yesterday at our first high risk OB appointment that we are having a BOY! It finally feels more real now. Justin is very very excited that he is having a son---we both wanted a boy and now that we are 98% sure that is what we are having it feels ok to admit that!

On the very graphic ultrasound picture, the arrow is pointing to the proof that we are having a boy. It's looking up at him--as if he were sitting on a glass top table. You can even see his cute little butt cheeks!
Let the name battle begin!

15 Weeks!

I have not had much to blog about lately but I think this bump is worth talking about! Feeling great and counting down to the High Risk OB appt on October 4th where hopefully we will find out what we are having! Either way the nursery is staying tan (we are NOT painting!) but I can't wait to start making the crib bedding and curtains!

This ultrasound picture was from our last OB visit at 13 weeks. Evidently, the monster face is normal!

Joe Mamas is For Real!

This is what Justin said midway through his meal. FACT! Joe Mammas is for real!

We have been dieting so going out to eat tonite was a big deal and I want to say that we made a splendid choice for blowing it! Ate at El Guapos last weekend with Dionne (another dieting mistake) and had a blast! We walked past Joe Mamma's Pizza on the way to the car and it looked cool. It is cool! And! The food is so so good! Our waiter was unique (he is in the background in the pic of me) as to be expected and kind of reminded us of Zach Galafinacus (no way that is spelled right).

Good date nite. New Tulsa favorite. Diet starts again tomorrow!

Newest Chair

I just found this chair this week and so it has been on my heart also but for different reasons. I put it in the living room for extra seating (which we do need) but I havn't gotten used to it yet. It's just so orange. So orange. So so orange! I love orange but I am not sure it's right for a whole chair to be orange. With lamp beside it on it totally glows. I might have to recover it. Shoot!

My Chair

This post has been on my heart for awhile. As if I don't have anything important to think about, my chair has been front and center. I am madly in love with this chair. Without question this is my favorite place to be when I am at home. I spend time during the day dreaming about how soon I will get to sit in this chair. Really, there is nothing special about it. It's just a perfect blend of so many little things that make it so special. Let's take a second to analyize those things.
#1 Bargain: I found this chair at a garage sale last year for $53. I am a bargain junkie and therefore the price is key. Anyone can find a great chair, but how many great chairs can you find for $53?
#2 Location: I squeezed this chair into the corner on my side of the bed. Notice the stack of books by the chair. This is the perfect place to read a book--which is the main thing I do in this chair. Before owning this chair, I would have to read in bed or in the living room. Would fall asleep in 5 mintues or end up watching tv instead of reading. No good.
#3 Comfort: This may be a given but worth mentioning. This chair is exceptional in this category. In fact, on occation, I have been known to nap in this chair. Best nap time is 8:30pm. Some might say that this is when my blood sugar is elevated from dinner and I could nap anywhere, but I disagree.
#4 Chair Accessories: The chair is great on it's own but I have improved upon it by adding some finishing touches. The ottoman is a given, it came with the chair. Who would sit in a chair without a foot rest? The pillow is a must. I use it in my lap for a book rest. Perfect. My other 'must have' is a very soft blanket (not pictured). I tried a snuggie and was horribly disappointed.
#5 Mood: Soft background noise (fan), lamp light only, beverage on the night stand and VIP company only (Shay). The chair is at it's best if you are enjoying time by yourself.
That concludes my list. These may lousy and insignificant reasons to some but I insist that if the house was on fire, my chair would be the first thing I grabbed---add that to the list, portable.

It's Your Favorite Time of Year?

Here is a conversation I just had with Justin...

J: It's almost your favorite time of year!
A: Really?
J: Guess what's happening on March 14th?
A: Spring?
J: No.
A: Shay's birthday?
J: We forgot Shay's birthday! It was last week! Happy late birthday Shabby. And, no.
A: St. Patrick's Day?
J: No! That's March 17th. What is happening on March 14th!?! It's almost here! It's your favorite thing.
A: Spring? (Again, just in case he hadn't heard the first time I guessed that).
J: No.
A: Goodnite, I give up.
J: You can't give up! You hate surprises! It's going to bug you all nite! What is happening on March 14th?
A: We turn in the basketball bracket things? (This was an excellent guess by the way)
J: No.
A: Love you, see you tomorrow.
J: Ok, I'll tell you. It's Daylight Savings Time! Your favorite!
A: Huh. Three cheers for time change!

I feel pathetic first of all that my husband thought that this was my favorite time of year! What does that say about me? It all boils down to the truth of the matter which is, this is Justin's least favorite time of year because of how worked up I get about any time change. It's a big adjustment for me to move one hour either direction and so there are many daily routines that are affected. This absolutely drives Justin crazy. Look at him! He knows the date! March 14th for crying out loud. He is counting down the days until he will be torchered! Maybe I should ease up on him a little bit this year. Maybe I should have a party on the 14th.

Enjoy the next 13 days my love. It's coming!

Tiny peak!

This is the only picture I have so far of the crib! I am desparate to see more but my friend Ashley says all looks great....still need to see it to make sure! I never would have picked these colors for a boy...just kidding! She is having a girl, McKenley, in 6 weeks. Her nursery is awesome--Ashley's husband John painted the stipes on the walls. Unbelievable! Justin would never. What am I saying? I would never attempt that!

Nursery Bedding

A new blog is coming! I can't wait to post some pics of the latest nursery I made. My friend Ashley (lives in Springfield) and I are meeting today so that I can give her her bedding. She will send me photos of it in the room asap so I can show it off! I am nervous about not being there to make sure everything fits...cross your fingers!
