Newest Chair

I just found this chair this week and so it has been on my heart also but for different reasons. I put it in the living room for extra seating (which we do need) but I havn't gotten used to it yet. It's just so orange. So orange. So so orange! I love orange but I am not sure it's right for a whole chair to be orange. With lamp beside it on it totally glows. I might have to recover it. Shoot!

My Chair

This post has been on my heart for awhile. As if I don't have anything important to think about, my chair has been front and center. I am madly in love with this chair. Without question this is my favorite place to be when I am at home. I spend time during the day dreaming about how soon I will get to sit in this chair. Really, there is nothing special about it. It's just a perfect blend of so many little things that make it so special. Let's take a second to analyize those things.
#1 Bargain: I found this chair at a garage sale last year for $53. I am a bargain junkie and therefore the price is key. Anyone can find a great chair, but how many great chairs can you find for $53?
#2 Location: I squeezed this chair into the corner on my side of the bed. Notice the stack of books by the chair. This is the perfect place to read a book--which is the main thing I do in this chair. Before owning this chair, I would have to read in bed or in the living room. Would fall asleep in 5 mintues or end up watching tv instead of reading. No good.
#3 Comfort: This may be a given but worth mentioning. This chair is exceptional in this category. In fact, on occation, I have been known to nap in this chair. Best nap time is 8:30pm. Some might say that this is when my blood sugar is elevated from dinner and I could nap anywhere, but I disagree.
#4 Chair Accessories: The chair is great on it's own but I have improved upon it by adding some finishing touches. The ottoman is a given, it came with the chair. Who would sit in a chair without a foot rest? The pillow is a must. I use it in my lap for a book rest. Perfect. My other 'must have' is a very soft blanket (not pictured). I tried a snuggie and was horribly disappointed.
#5 Mood: Soft background noise (fan), lamp light only, beverage on the night stand and VIP company only (Shay). The chair is at it's best if you are enjoying time by yourself.
That concludes my list. These may lousy and insignificant reasons to some but I insist that if the house was on fire, my chair would be the first thing I grabbed---add that to the list, portable.

It's Your Favorite Time of Year?

Here is a conversation I just had with Justin...

J: It's almost your favorite time of year!
A: Really?
J: Guess what's happening on March 14th?
A: Spring?
J: No.
A: Shay's birthday?
J: We forgot Shay's birthday! It was last week! Happy late birthday Shabby. And, no.
A: St. Patrick's Day?
J: No! That's March 17th. What is happening on March 14th!?! It's almost here! It's your favorite thing.
A: Spring? (Again, just in case he hadn't heard the first time I guessed that).
J: No.
A: Goodnite, I give up.
J: You can't give up! You hate surprises! It's going to bug you all nite! What is happening on March 14th?
A: We turn in the basketball bracket things? (This was an excellent guess by the way)
J: No.
A: Love you, see you tomorrow.
J: Ok, I'll tell you. It's Daylight Savings Time! Your favorite!
A: Huh. Three cheers for time change!

I feel pathetic first of all that my husband thought that this was my favorite time of year! What does that say about me? It all boils down to the truth of the matter which is, this is Justin's least favorite time of year because of how worked up I get about any time change. It's a big adjustment for me to move one hour either direction and so there are many daily routines that are affected. This absolutely drives Justin crazy. Look at him! He knows the date! March 14th for crying out loud. He is counting down the days until he will be torchered! Maybe I should ease up on him a little bit this year. Maybe I should have a party on the 14th.

Enjoy the next 13 days my love. It's coming!

Tiny peak!

This is the only picture I have so far of the crib! I am desparate to see more but my friend Ashley says all looks great....still need to see it to make sure! I never would have picked these colors for a boy...just kidding! She is having a girl, McKenley, in 6 weeks. Her nursery is awesome--Ashley's husband John painted the stipes on the walls. Unbelievable! Justin would never. What am I saying? I would never attempt that!

Nursery Bedding

A new blog is coming! I can't wait to post some pics of the latest nursery I made. My friend Ashley (lives in Springfield) and I are meeting today so that I can give her her bedding. She will send me photos of it in the room asap so I can show it off! I am nervous about not being there to make sure everything fits...cross your fingers!

32nd Birthday Celebration Day!

So Justin and I have a deal that on my birthday I plan the day and Justin does everything with me. May not be some people's idea of fun, but having the personality that I do, it works well. This is also a slam dunk for my husband since I am saved from disappointment. Here are a few thoughts/reflections on the perfect day.

8:00 Woke up. Late for me. I did try to sleep in but didn't want to miss any fun.

9:00 Breakfast at Panera w/ Justin. I am no longer Starbucks biggest fan. Gasp! I think Panera's carmel latte is perfection, followed closely by the coffee I make at home (it's more milk and sugar than coffee really).

10:00 Flea Market. Found the Christmas sweater vest for $3.98 for our office's dress up day on Wednesday. We asked, it is NOT tacky Christmas sweater day. But, isn't every Christmas sweater tacky? I appologize in advance for how I will look on Wednesday.

11:30 Pistal Pete store. I decided that since 32 and OSU rhyme, I needed to buy something OSU related. Turns out, it was not worth $60.

12:20 Scholozsky's ( I have no idea how to spell that). Fate stepped in. Our order no. was 32. It was a preordained lunch.

1:10 3 hour movie=2012. Is is bad that I cared more about the dog making it than anyone else? I also would like to take a moment to talk about toilet seat covers. I used quite a few public restrooms today and I am a fan in general of using the toilet seat covers (when available) as opposed to hovering. My only problem is that it is a race against time to get yourself 'seated' before the cover sinks into the toilet! It's the worst when you have on a belt!

5:00 Reservations at Flemmings. I have never had reservations before. It felt pretty darn special. My husband was so cute. Ordered for me and let me eat most of the desert. The best food I have ever had in my life. And! They gave me a box of truffles as a gift for spending my birthday there! Although, trust me. We paid for it in the end:)

6:30 Stroll around/window shopping in Utica Square. The trees are lit. There is Christmas music playing outside. Some of the stores were still open. Didn't buy anything (Justin's favorite part)

7:05 Drive to look at Christmas lights in Maple Ridge.

7:17 Drive home. I mean, how many Christmas lights can you look at?

Perfect day. Tomorrow (my real birthday) will be spent doing laundry and wrapping Christmas presents---totally worth it!

Thank you babe for the best birthday---love you!

Cooper Chockley Christmas Party

I hired the ultimate murder mystery.com to put on a mystery for our office Christmas party dinner at Molly's Landing in Catoosa. It was a total blast! I truly have not had that much fun in a long time. I was a wallflower of course, a little intimadated by the cast and by the crazies on our team who were playing along a little too well:) Dr. Chockley jumped in with both feet and even gave one of the victims mouth to mouth--yikes. Pictures say it all. BTW--My alias was "Sin-amon"---got no laughs.
